Here are your new black vinyl coated storage hooks. This 2 piece set is made of metal and is the screw in type. 6 inch in length before install, a 2 inch drop down, 4 inches of storage width with a 3-3/4 inch front rise. 1/2 inch safety lip. 1 inch thread exposure. At 5/16 inch thick, each hook is rated for up to 20 lbs. In theory, you may think 2 hooks will hold 40 lbs. That may be true for a short span, but an extension ladder or something long, at least use 3. That is elementary safety logic. 1/4 inch to 3/16 inch pilot hole is required. Use a little soap or wax for uncomplicated install. Now, if you wall mount, in a stud of course, you may want to screw the hook in beyond the threads to allow the hook to either touch the wall, or close to it. Could also use a small block of wood or furring strip. This is in case there is flexing from the weight. They will rest against the wall.
